Group Medical Insurance

Today, more than ever before, Employers face daunting challenges:

  • How can we hire qualified employees and retain them in such a tight labor market?

  • How can we provide the most valued and attractive benefit package to our employees and protect them from financial ruin from catastrophic medical conditions without breaking our company’s finances too?

  • How can we get a handle on the dizzy array of confusing plans and options and determine which represent real value to us and our employees?

  • How can we have some degree of predictability for the future of our costs and plans in an ever-changing regulatory environment and unpredictable insurance market?

How We Help:

We help you by assessing your situation and your needs.

  • Careful fact finding:  what you have now and how well it’s working in terms of benefits you need and use, the system of care, the degree of access you have to the physicians and facilities your employees need and want, and the things you don’t have but want.

  • Complete analysis of your employee census:  who is and isn’t insured and why.  What changes have occurred in your census over the past 3 to 5 years, and what is the likely trend.  What impact has this had on your premium rates, and where is this likely to go. . . .What can we do about it?

  • Careful design: what can we do to improve and enhance your plan, to add options and choices that employees can elect where appropriate, to review the funding options and cost sharing recognizing how these costs affect employee total compensation strategy?  (Local sports fans cry foul when a star player bolts to another team for more money; we would not want to lose key employees for much lesser amounts.)

  • We review these results with you in a strategy meeting to find the best overall value in terms of low price and meaningful benefits.  We also help figure the best way to share the premium costs between employer and employees.

We help you by educating and communicating these benefits to your employees on your behalf.

  • Your medical plan has to be understood to be appreciated.

  • We conduct employee information meetings with employees, as we have for the past 33 years.  Our specialty, in fact, is communicating with employees to maximize the goodwill of your benefits and the value of what you are providing.  We do this with customized plan summaries, graphical diagrams of each plan, examples of the plan in actions, and straight talk in the Q & A.

We help you by staying on top of the market.

    • There has been a major upheaval in the medical marketplace over the years with major new federal laws, including HIPAA; and state laws, with more mandated coverage, changes in rating systems, and carrier mergers, acquisitions and contractions.

    • We provide our clients with information, education, and assistance on cost saving techniques such as Health Savings Accounts and Section 125 of the IRS Code (Cafeteria Plans).

    • More importantly, we provide the analysis tailored to our client’s situation so that the best decisions can be made.

We help you by providing First Class Continuous Personal Service to your employees

  • We make sure your employees know how to get in touch with us for help at anytime and that we will be there to take care of any claims or service issues.  They won’t have to be “on hold”; we don’t use a telephone answering auto attendant - you talk to a live person at our office who helps you.

  • Your employees are not just numbers; if they have any issue or question we are there, whether it’s routine or more serious.

  • When necessary, we visit in person and on site to resolve claims issues.  We are experienced in Appeals Procedures should there be an especially serious situation.
